Thoughts for an '85 caddy install

looking for some direction for a audio system for my 85 cadilac broughm de elegance.

its a big car and need some help in maxing its SQ. i wont be winning any SPL titles (bass through the back seat wont be loud enough im sure but i want it to sound awesome (good enough for SQ maybe).

i have a few ideas so far, but want to hear other oppinions some good box designs, speakers and placement, head unit etc.

me and my friends will do the install. ive heard/read many times install and setup is the key, so i want to get as much info as possible, cause if your gonna do it, go hard and do it right, otherwise its a waste.

so, if ya have any advice, dont hesitate to speak up

I've heard that sealed boxes are best for SQ, but im sure you'll get different opinions!

As long as there is some way for air to pass through your rear deck into you cabin you wont have a problem in the spl department, just face the subs towards the rear of the car and have a decent unobstructed opening in your rear deck.

My car came with one 9" sub in the rear deck I took it out and left its cover in place so no one would be the wiser. Now I have a 9" opening in the deck between the cabin and the trunk and the bass is awesome.

If you dont care about spl then got with 10's or 12's in a sealed box. And as for the back seat .... Im pretty sure sound waves dont care about back seats :P
