my 1999 model punch 500@2 is rated at 696wmax at 4ohms bridged. Rockford told me that it is not safe to run this amp any lower then 4 ohms bridged. i would like to run it at 2.7 ohms bridged is this safe or will it over heat and die on me?

has any else done this and not have any problems?

That amp will run absolutely fine at 2.7 mono.

Needs: Battery hookup

22,000 watts in a daily driver.
Because too much is JUST right!

I agree , the impedance will not be constant and will vary with frequency . I have seen the rf 1100a2 do 2200 rms without any problems . It was hooked to 3-12" jl w3-d2's i believe . It isnt advised by Rockford but i have done it myself with a older punch 200 without damage to the amp . Wayne would know for sure .
