this kid had a D2 that was fine, but he wanted a custom box made, so we did the box and all and thn we noticed the fuse he had under the hood was gone, so I asked if he had taken out the fuse, he said no, he just discounted the amp, so with the cd player volume on 00 and the gains turned all the way down, I turned the car, within 5 seconds, the inline 60 amp fuse blowed, 3 times, what is the problem here, anyone know what could have caused this, no more me wanting a D2 now, I'm scared to even hook them up lol!! I'll just get a memphis 1500D!! or Concept 2400D!! or something, let me know what ya think

i did not understand your story very well, but i will say that you can disconnect almost any stereo equipment in any manner or form you wish and it will not damage the equipment. you can disconnect the negative ground from the amp or the battery, it is the same thing. you can disconnect the positive from the amp too (its the same as remove the fuse from the inline power wire).
go back and check for any shorts in the system, that would be my guess for blowing fuses.
D2's work just like any other amp.. i dont see why people have such hard time using them
