I have personally found that salesmen know very little about installation... I love walking into shops and testing them... They one want to sell product and make money... If you want the lowdown go to a shop with a good rep and have a heart to heart with one of the senior installers... I love talking to customers and people in general to dish out advice and opinions... Any good installers will usually be happy to talk to you...

cackle......I love it. Here in the office they haven't quite caught on to Netiquette yet, so we get a lot of FULL CAPPED e-mails and posts. Thankfully, they don't leave the office.
My sympathies 1LL, I've had stuck caps, enter keys that don't work (my wife tells me that's what happens when I try to force the keyboard into the desk......sigh.....thankfully the Master's is done http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif.)
I agree, they don't always know their head from a hole in the ground, but talk with the installers if you get the chance. Also, if one starts dissing another brand, leave. That just ain't right. It's one thing for them to point out faults in both what they sell and the guy next door, but another to call Orion, JL, Fosgate, Kicker, PPI, Eclipse, etc. crap because they don't carry it http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif. Local store tried that with me when I asked about the new Pyramids, doh, Lanzars vs. Rockford or Orion.
Oh well, I have babbled too long again,

I used to have an 82 Lincoln Town Car. I could tell you every thing about that car. I have a box design (bandpass) for 4 18" Punch XLC's that slams!!!! It doesn't do anything on the meter (like 148-149 off an old 200ix) but that bass would hit you in the back of the head like a hammer. By the way be nice to the other people on this forum, they aren't out to make any enemies. Let me know if you want those specs.

Ber, I bought an original Soundstream D30 from a shop in St.Louis many years ago, along with a SS tape deck. It all worked well, then the shop decided to drop the line. The salesmen (I later worked for them, to my regret) then told me the soundstream stuff was total junk. I asked for my money back and told him I thought that the store should be closed down, how dare they bad talk some products I bought from THEM!! And, not to mention the fact that I spent a ton of money there! Anyway, I ended up working there for about 3 months, and couldn't take the *****hole management. They were constantly picking up product line, dropping it a few weeks later, then bad mouthing it to customers who had bought it.... didn't make sense then, doens't now...
