Well I am planning on building a crossover for an am that will go from the head unit's preouts to the amps rca in's. What type of resistors and capacitor's would I need and where could I get them? The level is 500mV and 1k impedance. I already have a calculator but don't know enough yet.

<font color="blue"><cite>Generally if you want to put an x-over
between the deck and amp you built yourself
I would suggest doing active. I used to
build a simple high or low pass x-over
using a lm4558 dual op amp that had a
simple regulator for a b+ of 10 v gnd of
5v and b- of 0v. I then built a simple
12 db butterworth arrangement and dialed
in enough gain to make the pass frequencies
about unity gain.
I stopped building these things because
x-overs like the Coustic xm-1 were to
cheap to make it worth while.

I agree with Tech. You can get a good crossover like the audiocontrol 2XS or Coustic XM-1 too cheap to bother with it.
