need help on tuning a box for db drag

i have a 02 grand prix and the amp is a power bass 3000d for now but may be getting a ma audio 4000

build a box with the woofer on one side and make the other side the port. start with a smaller port, test,add length to the port, test, add more length ,test, make the port bigger,test make it longer ,TEST test test test get a meter if you don't have one. because what sound's loud to you is not loud on the mic. i had 2 12's in my crx with 2 cyclops it played 57 hrtz I put 1 10 in there with both amp's it played 62 hrtz and sounded weaker then crap BUT it was a 2 db gain over the 2 12's. it's all about testing and changing. goodluck

do not make a 3 cube box and a 6x11 port the sub doesn't like it if it is a 12 anyway
trial and error, live and learn course i'm only 17 so that was a good early life lesson

well i was going to get a 18" solo x but will not fit in my car. I need to find a meter so i do not have to drive a 1 hour and 45 min away.
