I might be coming into 2 of these and i was wondering what amp or amps would be good for powering these? i know a bd1000.1 would be good to power each one, but that would be pricey to get 2 of them.... any suggestions? 1000 watts rms and 2000 peak..

I'd get two class d 1000 watt amps(cheap). Right now I'm using an Ultimate Audio 1200d, it pushes the sub excellent. You can find it for around $300. Memphis or Crossfire 1000ds would work well. Two bd1000s would work out excellent, but your right...that'd be a lot of cash!! I'm fixing to add a 12 and two bd1500s, I curious to see how they're going to hold up!!

No but I know the guy that is, when you come down to pick up the Punch 40X I can bring them if you want to square a deal with him. I don't think he'll go any less than $400 for the pair.

have they been treated pretty well? and i heard something on here about those subs are designed top be powered per voice coil. is that true? if so, i can't afford them cuz i'd hae to spend a fortune powering them.

Get the Punch HX2s instead.
Trust me.
They will be louder than the Powers at that sort of input.

thatns not true. i know many people with 2 punch hx2's and they don't even get 148's. but it sounds loud. i have a friend that does 146-147's with one power HX2 12.

With an exact box/power, etc I lost 2db switching from a Power to a Punch. Plus the Punch was about to explode....you could smell it burning!! Get the Powers!!

The Powers ARE designed to run with an amp each coil boys.
Punch's will take 900-1100 for daily and 2kw for burps.
The Powers will HAPPILY take 3500w for daily and 10kw for burps.
My Power doesn't run very well with 1800w up it and for that power, a pair of Punch's will be louder.
For 2kw or less, get two Punches.
For over 2kw, get ONE Power.
I generally don't listen to the numbers being thrown around because people forget to mention if it's on the dash or in the port...whether their box was a well designed ported or a prefab sealed...you get what I mean.
I know the subs I sell, and I know how loud they get.
And a bd1000.1 is the WRONG amp to be looking at for the Powers as it puts out max power at 2 ohms and the Power can be wired to 1 or 4.
Better to look at a 1000.2 or a 1500 at 4 ohms, depending on the box.

They're very loud and satisfying with only 1000 watts on each woofer, are you trying to break records? Or just want to be happy but loud? This woofer I would categorize as a SQL woofer anyone disagree.

They are an SPL sub that has excellent SQ.
RF knew that these subs had to be used by their competitors so they are designed for that.
The reason why they have a 1kw rms power handling is so that the average joe can still put a couple of these in his ride, without taking out a second mortgage for amps.
It SHOULD have had a 2kw power handling, because thats what gets them moving.
There sin't one amp in the RF range that can do that sub justice.
Even a 1000.2 (1400w) isn't up to it.
They have two ohm coils for a reason.
A bd on each for daily driving.
And a pair of bds on each coil for burps and comps etc.
For less than 2kw it is probably better to grab a pair of Punch HX2s and get loud much easier.
The Powers will still run off small power, but it's not good value for money. In fact most other subs get louder of the same power...
Few can match the overall power handling of the woofers, as these things can take every last drop of power in the world and then some.
They suck it up like you wouldn't believe.
Get Punchs for 2kw or less, trust.
I sell enough to know.

I know many people have seen my post about my Cutlass, and how I'm going to run 6 12's in it, if I was going to go with a RF Power HX2, how would I power them, that would be alot of amps, right, But if I decided to run 6 of the RF Punch HX2, could I run each of them off of a 1500.1 or a 1000.2(or something similar, yall tell me), have each sub on its own amp. But another thing how does the Punch HX2 8" sub sound I'm going to put some 8's in the door.

The Punches won't take a 1500 each for daily driving, bro.
One on a pair will see you fine.
CutlassThunder, did you get that e-mail I sent about which box to go with?
Vented is by far the easiest.
All the port area firing through the shelf, with window on front, and all subs on display.
Did you get it?
