What ever happened to the idea of having state or regional championship events?

I would like to see stae championships and stae records. Maybe it could be something for the 2003 season.

How would we do it? Would each state need to have a special event to set the records? Would there need to be a 2x or 3x event in each state?

2x in each state, 3x in each region

I think this is a great idea, ESPECIALLY for the Novice class.

I like the idea, too. Gives the maybe "not-so-serious" competitors something to shoot for without having to worry about making it to Finals.

I think it's a great idea.
I have said this before, but I will say it again.
We can only have 12 world champions, but we could have 600 state champions.

Every time this has been brought up in the past years I have thought it was a good idea. Gives you something to work even if finals isn't in your prospects, for whatever reasons such as too long of a trip or things like that. I don't think it would be too hard to organize with all the dBDRA already has under their belt. Seems to be getting stronger every year and able to accomplish even more.

Just my 2 cents on this issue.

Well then, it seems like everybody's for it, but is there anything we can do about it. It would be nice if only 2x shows (not 3x)were considered state championships. If a state has more than one 2x, well then if you want to keep your championship title, you better show up for the show.

David and Sam...is there anything we can do about this. I'm sure we could find somebody from prety much every state that would be willing to find somebody to hold a show like this.

I also think this would be good motivation for retailers/show promoters to hold 2x shows, since they aren't certified anymore.

These would probably be a really good attention getter for the sport, because it gives alot of people bragging rights and that's a big part of the sport. I'll also give people something easier to strive for.

Audio Wizards and Jellis Audio held a double pointer last year for the Ohio State Championships in each class. I was the Street 1-2 champ. smile.gif Made me happy because that was bragging rights for the state. I honestly was unsure how I would do at finals but I felt good about the State Championship. ;)

Columbus Car Audio did it in ohio for 2 years and most loved it you got a sticker for your vehicle as well as a throphy if you won...

this has been brought up over the years but never implemented we should try to implement it this year no reason for major rule committe vote i think i will go well to improve the mood and sport just like when you have your vehicle featured on the front page of this site!

We have Florida State Finals down in Tampa. Last year Kenwood put it on. It was a 2x I believe.

Yes, Yes indeed. This is a great idea. It would give a lot of people bragging rights that don't make it to finals. It would mean a lot to be a state champion. smile.gif

This needs to be followed through.

How about setting up some regions for Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
