View Full Version : Sample Ballot for Everyone to view

I have resolved this issue with regards to the viewing the sample ballot for the 2001 changes. Just go to www.termpro.com/asp/vote1.asp (http://www.termpro.com/asp/vote1.asp) .
Please keep in mind that we will probably be splitting the Extreme Division proposition into several parts due to the large number of items in this proposition.
Thanks.

For the extreme class. As long as we provide a 1in. hole for the mic in the window area is that ok? We don't want to put a hole through the plexi.

looks good so far........i love the proposition of the flip panels over the pedals (for safety of course), and the fact that the "2 adult rule" will be implimented with these panels in place.
it's good to see the progress on the rules, thank you.

I have a few comments...
1.) I like the idea of the 1 in hole for the mic, but I agree that it should be in the window area, say the bracing around it, not the plexi...
2.) I am in preference to keeping the division by power in the Extreme 9+ class... some people like the additional cone area but cannot afford to compete against vehicles like the infamous bronco who are sponsored fully... I do love the bronco though...
3.)The max certified spl will be able to be set at a double point event? That is great... last year we could not do that... I like that...
4.) I love the 4 sq ft rule for the windshield as opposed to the 80% rule!!
5.) I think 50,000 watts is plenty for the extreme class, after all the monsters are the ones with 50,000 watts +, right??
6.) commercially available vehicles should be in the monster class....
Thanks for your time...

SO, which half of the velcro strips are to be placed on the floor of the extreme vehicles. The soft, non-loopy part, or the loopy velcro part. I do think that this would be a fairly important thing to know, otherwise, it won't work! http://www.termpro.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

You are on the ball dude! http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gifI understand Waynes direction as well, but it is much more fair for competitors that can't afford/dont have access to modified/experimental equipment to not have to worry that everyone that they might go up against may have an unfair advantage and they will be screwed anyway vs the fact that much fewer will do it at the risk of being caught and the facing the consequences of cheating. I think this rule has good intent for simplifying things, but would hurt far more than it would help as the majority of competitors won't have the means to this equipment. I would rather see this equipment remain only eligible for monster class and be policed by the best means available.

I agree with audio wizards, the classes need to be broken up a little more, especially the extreme. I thought the idea of the 5-6 idea was a very good one. And i really think that a superstreet 3-4nw would be a fair way to go from street. I hope you consider these classes especially the 5-6!

totally agree with buzz, plus if the rules are policed in the lanes at finals like they should be, it won't be a problem. i really don't think i'll compete if you can use whatever you want in whatever you want in the extreme class. thats fine for the monster class, but not extreme. i also agree 5-8 should be split up.

2. Really liked the 5-6 and 7-8 classes
3. Should we question the need for a 9+ class or would we be better off doing 7+ for super street? (how many 5-8 and 9+ cars do you see in super street?) just asking....

A token woofer is one added to the system at the last minute to move up a class. Example: Buddy has 8 15s in his ride but notices that there is nobody in the 9+class. He grabs a box with a single 10" in it and tosses it in the back. That 10 will not help his SPL but will get him a win by being all alone in 9+.
Happens a lot.

Wayne, when you say anyone that has changed the skin of their vehicle to change the interior volume of the vehicle doesn't that mean anyone with a truck that has cut the cab and or bed of the truck to run a box into the cab should be in the monster class?
I know that manufacturers of these trucks had no intention of making trucks so people can cut them out for more air space.
So if you say that changing the skin of a vehicle is illegal than all crawl throughs and walk throughs performed on trucks should be illegal. Or put in monster class.

i dont recall anything in the proposition that said if street can still make it to the finals which i believe you have no real intention. with that said you should consider letting ssnw 3-4 be a division. it generates a class that street 3-4 can move to very easily by simply adding power etc..
if you are very hard against adding ssnw 3-4 you should go ahead and get rid of street 3-4 for there is no growth path for them. which is needed especially if you dont want to see street at the finals. thats my .707 cents worth.
------------------
don't get mad get jellis.
For a majority of the rule changes I like. BUT I strongly dissagree with the comercial vehicals in extreme, The biggest challeng about db drag is to be restricted to these smaller "normal" size vehicals. If u remove this rule u can stick a fork in the rest of us who already have a vehical built or dont have the means of getting one of these "potentially 20,000 pound" vehicals around or the funds. Up until this point u just had to be smart to win, now you will have to be smart and rich to win. U get what I am trying to say, I hope. Please leave the commercial rule in place or move it up to the monster class. O ya I like the 5-6 and 7-8 class idea.

I like the rules for 2001, but for the having to move up into ss or ext class for the next year if you qualify for finals i kinda dont like that because people spend alot of time and money on there cars. So after that season we will have to start all over instead of just changing things.
please consider this

Wayne, Alot of competitors in 3-4 street do not want to tear up there cars for the 2002 season if they make it to finals. So if there is a 3-4 ssnw they would'nt have to spend alot of money to redo there cars.Give us a chance and let us vote on it. Say Yes To 3-4 SSNW

Wayne, I know you dont care for controversy, so I would DEFINATELY suggest changing the wording in the extreme section for the place for a mic stand.
If you want 12" diameter flat spot, then PLEASE word it that way. 95% of us will do it anyway becuase that is what you "recomended", but the other 5% will leave 8 inches, and say the 12 was just a recommendation, not a rule.
This is the same problem with the 5'6" adult rule. There should be some given dimensions that are the minimum sizes, like floor to head posistion, box to footwell, and door to console, so people wont make bogus vehicles, and then squeeze a contortionist into the spot and say its legal. Just becuase I want to follow the rules as they are written, doesn't mean I should be relegated to a lower finishing posistion, because I didn't 'interpret' the rules the same as some others.
PLEASE, if you want everybody to enjoy db drag, and not have all kinds of controversy, relace these type of wordings with something that CANT be argued, I know you dont have time to argue about them, especially at finals, so lets just eliminate the problem.

Thanks for the claification Sid. And yes I could use a typing/spelling class. David it was a typo and meant to be reading. And what I meant by that comment was that if Wayne read every single post in every single section made here he wouldn't have time left in the day for anything else. I was not intending to make it sound derogatory in any form. I do feel however that with atleast one new proposed class for SS that there needs to be some propositions listed for SS defining the limits of certain things. Such as what defines a wall or nonwall. Each person has their own view of what makes a wall and what would pass for a non-wall vehicle. All I was asking for was some clarifications that would involve some of the current proposals should they be passed.
