View Full Version : Rule Proposition: World Finals Location

The True dbdrag WORLD finals is to be in a different country each year. Just like the olympics. Maybe the dbdrag Worldwide association should organise and pay for the top two cars from each class, from each country of the WORLD to attend, this way they could then be called the WORLD finals. Holding such an event in the same country EVERY year is just a bit unfair to the rest of the WORLD.

Please do not come slagging this post with wery little thought if you happen just to live in the USA, because dbdrag is advertised as a WORLDWIDE format, and such, the world finals should not be limited to one country location.

A proposition would be to hold 4 off world finals quarter finals in each of - Americas, Europe, Far east (japan/China) and Australasia. Then the winners can compete, on Internet linked meters. This way we would have a True World champion, not just a champion from a tenth of the worlds population.

Sensible replys only please.

PS, there will be more countries at the European World finals than at the American national finals that have just taken place...........

Peace? (bass) on earth.

Internet linked? Boy is using his nugget!!!

Wayne is this possible?

Think about it, it is REAL EASY. Hold the world finals (really country finals) of each country on the same day (according to a common time zone may be rough) and have qualifying done around the globe. The top 8 from around the globe compete on internet-linked meters!!

Officials are spread out around the globe officiated each (country finals) making it all apart of world finals!

Dude EXCELLENT IDEA!!!!!!!

With data at the speed of light, this would be SO EASY TO DO!!!!!

AT&T or Sprint can be a sponsor!!!!!!!

Actually, now that I think about it this is EXACTLY what I would like to see happen with the organization!!

Remember I said primetime TV, like NCAA with the top 64 teams in the nation?

How about the top 64 vehicles (8 countries 8 spots) in each class compete head to head in bracket style elimination!

I can not wait to see the top 40 cars on the planet do a simultaneous DEATHMATCH!!!!

what about meter calibration? the reason the finals are in the us is because of the number of competitors in the us. really cool idea, if the mics could be accurate to each other.

Anyone have a few hundred thousand MILES of mic cable? We can take care of the mics. Of course the meter is here in the US where cable loss is at a minimum. But wait, we used balanced cable anyway http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif

Oh, go satelite with signal! Talk about finding a way to manipulate mics if you are good with taking over gov satellites http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif hehe

As stated in my other post, if anyone could figure it out, Wayne could.

At finals, my wife asked Wayne, "So Wayne do you do dB Drag, and dabble in computers, or do you do computers, and dabble in dB Drag?"
He replied "both" http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif

That's a cool idea.

Problems:
COST
verifying mics
getting a decent start and end time where the the times are opposite around the world

Screw the time difference. who actually got a good amount of sleep in Nashville anyway. The time difference can be sort of an enduro match between competitors.
