i'm all for the ssnw classes- 1-2 and 3-4. i think it will be more fair overall- let people with 15's in their trunks have a chance. and 12's can be competitve as well. keeps the regulars out of the "newbie" class so that they have a chance.

This class interests me,but I wonder if Wayne will let standard cab trucks compete in this class with a cut-through?..Also,I'd like to see an 'anything goes 2-12" woofer, unlimited power' catagorie...and,perhaps a one woofer street might be interesting. I just think there are too many catagories on the top end of the scale, and not enough down where most $$spenders would be willing to $compete$.

i must agree, SS No Wall would be AWESOME, people who dont wish to devote their entire vehicle to building a wall would still have a chance. right now, people with say 2 12's or 15's in sealed boxes in the trunk have almost no chance against people with two 12's or 15's in a ported wall. i'd love to see this happen!

yes street should stick around too, but just for local shows- no points, strictly as a playground for the local new guys to get started.

All for SS NW. I think there should be some restraints placed on this catergory though. Such as only one amp per sub and a limit of 1 or 2 batteries. I do believe an upgraded alternator should be allowed also. Just my four cents worth.

fat chance.....I look at it this way.
You have two 12's or 15's in your trunk, with multiple batteries & a couple big amps.
I have about 50 cu ft of airspace, two 18" woofers, 4 vlx400's, a massive battery array and a 300A alternator. Just how much chance do you have?
Street & ONLY street gives a small system a chance because it limits woofer size & power availability. See my other post on keeping street class. You may want to rethink your position.
If SSNW goes through, the class will be ruled by systems in the $5,000+ range.
Street class systems can be kick butt in the $1,000 - $1,500 range. Somethings to think about.

Scary thought. http://www.termpro.com/ubb/frown.gif I think Wayne already has his mind made up on this one. Unfortunately, us little guys will be ok at the local level, but that's about it. Myabe put a size restriction on this class. Power isn't a problem. But, my neon doesn't have but 6cuft. in the trunk that is usable. Maybe I should get on fiberglassing my spare tire well now. Oh well, whatever goes through, I'm sure I'll have fun until I run out of money and ideas.

Good lord, this SS NW is the best damn idea since sliced bread. What defines a wall again http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif ?

I honestly don't thing that will be problem on, and if it is, it's only a certain level. Anybody who has the cash to throw away like that ain't gonna do it on a dog install in the trunk, it just ain't practical. This is a great new idea for people who just got amps that are really big (ala any class D), and should make for a intresting comp. I think ss the way it is totally biased for the wall based compeitor. They win, and thats about it. There a couple of execptions, but not many. I personally think of the trunk as a handy cap, and why not have everyone have the same handy cap? I think it's been said before, it's 90% application, and the application is really restircted by your stardard trunk, espeically if its your Daily driver. my two pennies. http://www.termpro.com/ubb/smile.gif

i personally am against the SS no wall. my car was a daily driver with (12) 12" subs in a wall. there would be no way I could compete Extreme and have a chance. But i could hang in SS. because my car is a STREET car, that is legal, and get's driven daily.
I think wall makes you ss from street. I think no wall should only be in street.
If you want to keep your subs in the trunk, stay in street class. your not no "SUPER street" install. There are a lot of installs on the streets that are walls. they are not extreme vehicles. are we just going to say FOKU to all them?
I have a lot of friends who have walls or what is "above the seat" in the cars they drive everyday. expecting them to goto extreme and compete is just plain dumb. their street cars are "super."
I think power limits should be removed in street, but make the car still fully functional (no wall, no mods). if you can't drop $500 on a 2000w amp, you shouldn't be expecting to have a chance at the "world title" imho.

The Super Street cars with walls won't be pushed into the extreme division. This discussion is about adding 2 additional classes to Super Street. A no wall 1-2 and no wall 3-4.

I like the idea. Every comp I have ever participated in or watch in super street someone with a wall always wins. I am planning on competing alot next year and I love the idea. Because I do not want to give up my whole backseat up for a wall.

With response to 'The Natural',if standard cab trucks aren't allowed to cut-thru they won't have a chance AGAIN this season, and if the 'cut-thru' is limited to below the window,or the top of the bed rails,I don't believe there would be a problem - no ports along the roof,no monster ports,no 'wall' type advantages, but FINALLY, trucks would once again be competitive vehicles.

I think that having a SS no wall will take the average person out of the sport. I think its a good idea, because it is unfair for someone with no wall going against a wall. But I think there should be a cap on the size of the sub woofers and the amount of mods made to the electrical system. I like the street 1-2 with unlimited power idea. I think that it would be fair to keep the 12" cap on sub woofers. The every day person that will compete doesn't have two 15 or 18s to compete. I know that everyone looking at the sport as a whole and I know that the everyday person isn't going to compete at the finals. But there is alot of people that could take two 18s and alot of power and do some really crazy numbers. I guess i'm looking at it from a local aspect. I just think everyone should think about the average competitor. I'm not dissing the SS no wall, I think it is a good idea. It does suck competing against a wall with 18's. But how would someone feel going against someone with 2 15s and 4000 watts when they only have a 12 with 600?

I think that the street classes were a good idea at the start but it has got out of hand.
I like the new ssnw idea. All of the other classes compete against different size subs also, so they should be treated equal. If you want to get technical the Street class was designed for newbies so next year every person that was in street would not be considered new to the sport. Finally, if it is a money issue there are alot of people who struggle with money to compete, simple, if you do not have the money to put into a system you are in the wrong sport.
PS- Someone said we should keep the street classes for local comps but for it to be for a trophy only no points ect. money is the promoters decision, I think that is also a good idea.
This is just my intitled opinion.

As a manufacturer of Subwoofers and Tube style enclosures I find it to be fair to have two seperate classes in SS 1-2 & 3-4, My own personal vehicle has been used this past season, an everyday driver. And I had to compete against walls, they don't drive their vehicles everyday and go everywhere in them. I have 4 Twelve inch TM RUSH bass tubes in the far rear of my four door blazer.my average is around a 153.3 the highest i've hit was a 156.0, All out of Tubes... only three tubes fit on the floor sideways, the forth sits off to one side and exceeds the top of the rear seat about 6 inches..
