i hooked a kicker comp 12" up to a 150 watt home audio amp in my room the other day and for what it was it was quite loud but it was making a sound like the sub was bottoming out even though it was barely moveing (about a quarter inch both ways) i know it isnt an air leak because it doesnt do that on my kx-600 but just to make sure i tried hookeing that amp up to the other three one at a time and it done the same thing on all 4 of them so what could cause this and how can i fix it

could be the amp clipping hard. is the sub 4ohm or 8ohm. most home amps can not run at a 4ohm load and still retain control of the speaker.
and i just looked at the web page and i would highly not suggest running any car audio sub off that amp. that thing is prob like 15-20 rms watts as someone else said. it prob the amp not liking that sub

they are 4Ω
and i thought of that already and wired two of them to 8Ω it still done it but not as bad (probably because they were only getting ¼ of the power each)
