i finally topped a 140 but when i try to use my remote from outside my car it doesn't work. i run street a so the hu has to stay in the car but is there any way to get my remotr to work without buying a new hu??

What type of remote? I've had 2 headunits with remotes, 1 was a credit card style and the other was more like a remote, bigger and more powerful.
Make sure the remote has strong batteries and just need to try different angles through the window. Also make sure the signal isnt getting blocked between the remote and faceplate.
