i just installed two amps to my stock radio, and since the stock deck doesn't have a remote wire i hooked up the amps remote to the ignition wire. i'm guessing since the ignition wire now has to supply current to the two amps, my clock isn't getting enough juice. am i right? is the radio connected to the ignition wire at all? it comes on only when i turn on the car, but im sure it has a constant power source too. would a relay solve my problem? thanx.

1st, by ignition do you mean the switched power lead for the deck, or an actual ignition wire found in the steering column harness.

2nd, If an amp is working properly, there should be very minimal draw for the remote wire. This should not affect the lights.

what car? what year? Is the clock located "inside" the radio or externally?
