Here is the run down of my system. -Eclipse 5341R Cd Player -Infinity Highs and cheap tweets running off cdp. -Monster Cable interconnects from non fading output of cdp to x-over -MTX 2 way x-over -Streetwires interconnects from x-over to sub amp -Alpine MRV-T501 sub amp -1 12" Soundstream Mule -Power run via 2 awg wire, in-line fuse 5" from battery, ground connected to bare metal
Now here is my problem. My sub plays words! it plays lows too, but you can hear words coming through it to. I have checked everything. RCA's coming from x-over to amp are coming out of low pass output, the x-over on the amp is off, and the MTX is set at 60 Hz. When I first installed it I didn't have the MTX x-over, and it played words so I went and talked to an installer I know. He said it could be the amps x-over being and older amp and used. So I went and bought the MTX and it still does it. I have no clue what's going on. If anyone can help i would greatly appreciate it. Sorry it's so long.

Well, it's not unheard of for the human voice to have harmonics that go that low... I'd say, if it's really loud, you've probably got your amp gained WAY too high. You could also try a steeper crossover slope, of oh, say higher than 24dB per octave.

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

You didn't mention how loud do you hear voices (compared to sub). It is normal to hear some voices. For instance if you have 12 dB crossover, and subwoofer plays 120 dB at 50 Hz then, sub will also play 84 dB at 480 Hz which is somewhere in voice region and quite loud.
So do you hear voices only when you listen just to sub, or also when you listen with other speakers.
If the problem is present also when you listen other speakers I would suggest following: - try to use both crossovers - try to set frequency at MTX little bit higher, this way you will get more kick bass, so maybe you wouldn't play sub so loud. - try to buy some additional crossovers (like Harrison) - buy crossover with steeper slope - buy amplifier also for front speakers, so they will play louder (voices) than sub.
If you want to check how does your crossover really plays, then the cheapest way is to buy test CD with separately recorded frequencies, and cheap SPL meter (I think, that you should get that at Radio Shack, or similar stores). Then put meter in car (always in same spot) and leave volume control always the same. Write down on paper results for each frequency, and if you want you can also draw a graf. This way you will be sure what is going on with your system.
Cables don't have any influence on that. But it is better to write all.
