i was wondering if the ip bus on a odr cd player is the same as a p bus on a p1r /dehp7050 series cd player

If you have the part #'s, cross reference them with Mouser or Digi-Key. If they match, go for it, if not, ask for a similar part. [Cool]

I believe they are the same, if they weren't I would expect the plugs to be different shapes. It wouldn't make sense for a manufacturer to have two separate bus protocols and use the same plugs and cables, to many probems with people trying to connect the wrong things together.

Plus my P9/ODR combo works fine with the non ODR changers

If it has a P in the model #, that means P Bus and will work with ANY P bus changer.
