This has probably been asked several times but I am new to this site. I have a minor problem. I have a humming noise in my subs, when my lights are on. This only happens when they are on. My equipment is as follows. I have a Panasonic cd player, Orion HCCA 225, and two American Pro 12" subs in a ported box. These subs are cheap but sound great. Please help me? I am a dumb...!

welcome to the Forum have fun learning all you can. most time it's alt. noise or a bad ground. I would try moving the ground around and see what happens let us know how it goes, you not.

I have tried about everywhere except straight to the battery with the ground. When I unplug the RCA cables the noise disappears. When the player is muted you can hear the cd rotating in the subs. It isn't very loud but is annoying. What should I do? [Confused]

Try regreounding the HU. Sounds like a ground loop problem.

I have tried about three different locations to ground the HU but no luck maybe if I get a real good set of RCA's. The ones I have now are double shielded. When I disconnect the RCA's, the sound disappears. Any other suggestions. This noise is not bad until there is no music playing. I am afraid of burning out my voice coils.
