I stuck my drill through the foam surround of my brahma 15. It isn't all that bad, i don't think any of the foam material got torn off, and it actually sounds kinda decent considering its condition.

I've seen pictures before with tape on surrounds. What kind of tape is this? Should I use it on both sides? Anything else i could try?

I used a bit of krazy glue on the front and back of my RUBBER surround (not POSITIVE if it's okay for foam) and stuck a patch of electrical tape over the glue on both sides...worked fine...
But again I'm not positive if the same would apply to foam... [Confused]
Next time please cover the surround with a small piece of wood or your hand while you work...damn I felt stupid when I did that... [Wink]

I have used clear nail polish on foam surrounds. Works great.
Done it on multiple older subs when I did the drill thru the surround. Ouch. LOL

Hope this helps [Smile]

i think everyone's stuck a drill bit through a surround. but yup. put your hand there instead. i'd much rather stab myself than my subs.. (now THAT'S dedication!! lol)

as far as the hole. just dab some super glue on there and leave it be. only reason i say put glue in it is so the tear doesn't get any bigger. usually a small hole/tear in the surround won't affect anything.
