I just "installed my first system and the amp wont turn on... i ran 4g from the battery to a 60amp fuse then to the distribution block, and 8g into the amp, i grounded it, hooked up the rca's into the headunit (alpine 7893)and the sub into the amp...what do i do about the ground wire? does it go to a switch or the head unit?.. the amp wont turn on, but the power is there i dunno what to do...any suggestions Thanks!

No offense meant, but if hooking up an amp is out of your league, you might want to get help. The power gets a wire from the battery, sound like you got that right. The ground wire should get bolted/screwed to the metal chassis of the vehicle, and the remote wire will need to be hooked up to a 12v switched source.

For the amp.. + goes to the battery , - goes to the chasis of the car, and REM goes to the remote wire on the deck.. if theres problems find someone in the area that's done this alot and get thier help, dont blow you amp man! Im sure there are tons of people willing to help!
