I just decided to hook a crossover up to my stereo last night. Its an Optimus Electronic Subwoofer crossover, which I really like a lot, when it worked. I got the ground from the chassis, the remote from the remote/power antenna wire behind the head unit, and the battery power from the "battery", lol. I used 10 gauge for the ground and 10 gauge for the battery supply and remote. I had it hooked up this morning and it sounded excellent. While I was listening to the stereo I turned to a different track on the cd player and I heard a humming between tracks or when I pushed the next track button. I then played around with the RCA's on the crossover and amp. Then whenever I turned the stereo on the amp would turn on, the sub would make a noise, and then everything would shut off. Also, the power light didn't go off for like 15 seconds on the amp, just slowly fade off. Then I tried bypassing the crossover by hooking the RCA's from the HU straight to the amp. Everything worked fine then. Then I tried using the crossover again. Same thing happened. Then I tried using some different cables from the crossover to the amp, didn't solve the problem. The crossover was working excellent the whole morning and noon till the humming begin. The crossover turns on fine and everything. The RCA's from the HU to the crossover are Lightning Audio Strike Series twisted cables and the RCA's from the crossover to the amp are just plain ones that came in an installation kit or that I got somewhere. I've kind of ruled the RCA's out. I think either the signal isn't going through the crossover or the right level output knob is getting bad. I need some serious help!
Thanks!

sounds like bad connect of the remote wire, pull your HU out and make sure its connected correctly.
