can someone tell me how top go through the firewall of my explorer this is the only part of the instalation im not sure of i know i need a grommet where can i get one to fit 4 gauge wire because that is what im using

check the passenger side floor area. (or do a search. *wink wink). i believe this may have been covered

Ford typically incudes several "blank" grommets in the firewall to allow additional wiring expansion. In several Ford Models, this is either on the passenger side behind the dash next to the heater core; or otherwise, on the driver side- just off the side and slightly above the steering collum.

It may be usefull for you to open the hood and have a close look at the firewall from that point of view. Sometimes, things are easier to find, and gain access to this way.
