can i mount an amp to the floor of my cargo area in my xplorer in front of my box its an audiobahn a2200hc and rather large and i figured this would be a good place for it and maybe mount my caps above it or something probably to the walls though
just need to know if the amp can be mounted to the floor

Just make sure that you wont hit the gas tank. I believe you will be ok with this.

I had a Ford BII in the mid-90s (2 Door Explorer replaced it) and I had my band-pass box secured to the wooden "strips" that ran under the carpeting. The strips were off-set from the "corrugated" steel of the BII's body - made the carpet smooth.

I think you could do the same with your amp. Hrm....ground problem? Plastic screws? Could you mount the amp to the box itself? I did this in the BII and had no problems (was a daily driver, so I'm not sure how much SPL I lost).

As Vegas10 said - Make sure to avoid the gas tank, brake wires, break cables, any other wires & cables that run back there.
