WOW, I AM TRULY IMPRESSED ON HOW ALL OF YOU ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE WHEN IT COMES TO CAR AUDIO. THAT IS THE REASON I AM HOPING YOU CAN HELP ME OUT. I AM PLANNING ON BUILDING A STANDARD PORTED BOX FOR MY 97 CHYSLER SEBRING. THIS BOX IS FOR THE 2 PRO RF10'S AND ALL I NEED IS ABOUT A CUBIC FOOT OF AIR SPACE. LIKE A MAJORITY OF CARS, THE REAR SEATS FOLD DOWN, WHICH IS ON REASON I WANT TO HAVE MY SPEAKERS FACING INSIDE THE CAB. NOW I HAVE TO REMIND YOU, I AM A BONIFIDE AMATURE WHEN IT COMES TO CAR AUDIO, SO I AM CONFUSED WHEN SOMEONE RECOMMENDED I PUT PLEXIGLASS OR A BOARD IN FROM OF THE SPEAKERS? ALSO.. I WOULD LIKE TO ALSO RUN TWO PORTS FROM THE BOX TO THE REAR DECK (BELOW MY REAR VIEW WINDOW). THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS I WILL HAVE SOME SPACE BETWEEN THE BOX AND THE REAR DECK, WITH THIS IN MIND, THE MANUAL SAYS I NEED TO HAVE A 13.25" PORT LENGHTH. WOULD THIS STILL APPLY IF ONLY HALF OF THE PORT WILL BE IN THE BOX? OK, ONE MORE QUESTION FOR ALL YOU PROFESSIONALS, HAVING THE SPEAKERS FACING THE FRONT.. IS THIS THE BEST IDEA OR SHOULD I FACE THEM TO THE TRUNK?.... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!

first of all you most likely need 1 cubic foot per 10. Most definatley fire the woofers backwards in the trunk. If at all possible put the ports on the same side as the woofers. To answer your question yes you can extend your port outside the box for instance you need a total port length of 13 in. you can put 6in. inside the box and 7in outside. The tricky part is the farther u move the port outside the enclosure the more air space you get inside the enclosure. So take into account when desighning your enclosure. If your sitting there going what the hell did he just say. I recomend having your enclosure built by a profesional who can tell the same thing I just told you, not all "professionals" are created equal. I still suggest keeping it simple fire ports and woofers to the rear of the vehical.
