I have a bd1000 hooked up to two 15" eclipse dvc subs. when the bass hits hard it makes my head unit skip after the skip my amp cuts out. I know fosgate says this amp isn't 1 ohm stable but alot of people on this forum said it'll just fine and i've ran other fosgate amp at 1 ohm and they ran just fine. one day it cut out(went into protect) 3 times like in 15 minutes. I don't think i'm stressing the amp too much cuz when it cuts out i check it and it's never been hot. it was barely even warm. just pisses me off cuz i spent all this money on a new system an i can't even turn it up. well hope somebody could help me out. TIA

p.s. someone told me that my amp might be doing this cuz it's not getting enough current. I have 4 gauge wire running to my distro block. from there 8 gauge to my 400a4 and a 4guage to my bd1000. hope someone could help.

ok well if you dont think your getting enough power to your amp take power off the 400a
and if it still cuts out
then I would run your amp at 2 ohm
see if it still cuts out

if you have a 4 gauge wire you have a choice
of 2 8g or 1 4g that come out of your dis block you have 1 extra 8g witch is not alot but it could make a difference

Most all of the amplifiers that I've seen that cut out have the same common link missing in the installation.
You mention that you have ample guage for power wire, and that you have the same for ground to the chassis of the car. Did you remember to add a foot of ground wire from the battery to the body, under the hood?
If your battery is not a sealed type, check the water levels in each cell, refill with distilled water, and charge up the battery.
