Hey guys, whats goin on? Ok, i have an Earthquake Thrust 250 running my eq CS-4 component set up front, and it has sounded awesome, up until 2 days ago. the problem is, suddenly there is a TON of alternator noise, along with a weird, scratchy, almost like static crunchy like noise, but slower and louder. Its only in that one amp, cause my sub amps dont make that noise. my rear speakers are running off of my JVC kd-sx949 deck, and when i fade it all the way back, the alternator whine goes away from the fronts, but the scratchy crunch is still there. I dont know what to think. Its pretty weird. I think its something in my rca's or on the inputs of the amp itself. Im thinking of sending it to earthquake for repair, but id like to know what you guys think it is. Thanks a lot!

hmmm Since it just started maybe it is one of your ground breaking or one of your power wires grounding out.

So wouldnt that have blown my fuse or something? The positive couldnt have. Here's why. I have 4 ga running to a distribution block, the 250 is mounted 6 inches from the fuse block. so the 8 ga coming out of the fuse block runs some 6-8 inches and goes to the amp. Since i sunk the amp into my box, there isnt even any metal to touch, just carpet and wood. And, none of my other amps are making noise like that.
