I am running a 2 channel 600 watt amp bridged to feed my Sub. While coming home the other day it just quit. The power light goes out when the sub is ready to hit a note. But if I turn the sub down the power light will stay on. Ive checked all wiring and its ok. The Amp is not getting hot. In fact its cold to the touch. I am hearing this is a common problem from kenwood amps. Do you guys have any ideas on what could be causing this??

Is it a 728S? i have the same amp, sometimes, it seams either it gets hot and shuts off, not in your case, or maybe by turning the volume up i am running to many watts to it. If you turn the volume down does it go back on? otherwise, make sure and check all your wires including ground. I don't know a lot but i thought i'de try to help since no one else posted yet Later, AC

My friend had the same problem. He took it to Kenwood, they inspected it, nothing wrong, cleaned it, then it worked!!! I think it just needs to be cleaned. =) This happened 3 times.
