What can I do?

I have a Clarion 7475 that is 4 years old.
(I don't know if the age of the head unit has anything to do with it.)

I have 4 DD9512's ported at 40 HZ with 1800 watts going to all 4 subs.

I don't know what SPL I'm hitting but it skips on real low notes.

Help.

if the problem has continued to get worse over time, it may be a loose laser or loose connection of some sort.

if it has always done it, you're pretty much screwed. try turning the subs off and seeing if it skips, then turn em up slow

also, you're crazy if you listen to music on 4 9512's and over 6k watts

Here's a solution... Turn the volume down! j/k How is the unit mounted? If it is loose it may be bouncing around a lot and that could cause it to skip.

Guys,

I don't have anywhere near 6K watts!!

I only am running 1800 watts total.
(450 per sub)

My head unit is mounted very solid. even has the backstrap on it.

It never skipped in my old system but it was about 5 db lower than this one.

My vehicle is a 2000 F-150 extended cab.

Any more help??

Check the voltage to the head unit. It may be dipping to low to feed the laser. Alot of people don't check that.

Ml Alpine is about two years old and having the same problem a buddy of mine suggested that after two years of kicking the crap out of it that the diodes in the HU tend to get scratched and wear out, I don't know if there is any truth in that :=)
