sometimes during manufacturing the tensil leads are made too short.. and they will pull at max excursion.. and break off. The first time it happened, how did you fix it? if you fixed it yourself, that is why it did it again, if you sent them in, and the recones did it too, I would look at the leads, 2 pair in a row is not very common.

PS are you sure they are ripping out, or are they burning into. I have had that problem more with the kickers than the ripping out problem.

If you are distorting it real bad, the leads will heat up.. and burn.. like a vc would. remember, they aren't pure wire, but like a fabric with wire woven in it.. to be flexible.

Send the sub back. i've got one in my car with about 400 watts going to it and haven't had that problem. Now when I put 2000 watts to it, that is another story.

You may be launching the coil(s) as the woofers try to reproduce subsonic frequencies while receiving tons of power. You may want to try a subsonic filter if you are not already doing so. You may also be building up more back pressure in the enclosure than the woofers suspension can handle, if this is the case the only cure is a smaller amp or a ported enclosure.

I think aliens blew up my subs.
