Hey, You wanted a question.. well I have one. When I had my 2 Alpine 1505s (both 900x1) and My Alpine F-353 (60x4 + 225x1)I kept getting engine noise in my F-353. The F-353 powers both of my polk 3055dx 5 1/4 componets. So In the process of redoing my system I removed the both sub amps, my subs +box, and my 1 farat cap. So i just had the 1 F-353 and the componets, and guess what, NO NOISE! YEY!!! So I get rid of my amps and subs and pick up New 12'' HX2s and some bd1000a1s. I put the 12s in the box and put the box in my trunk and hooked everything up. Guess what, NOISE AGAIN!!! This time I didnt install the 1 farat cap. I have the 1 bd1000a1 and the F-353 grounded to the same spot and getting power from the distrabution block where the 0 gauge from my battery connects to. I carefully routed all of the power wires away from the RCAs. I dont know what to do, I'm going out of my mind with this engine noise. I am going to try and ground the F353 to a different location. The amps get grounded to a distrabution block and that gets a 4 gauge ground thats less then 8'' long to the chasis of the car. Any suggestions would be great. Oh, I just want to add I didnt move any of the power lines of RCAs from when It wasn't making noise to now (when it is making noise)

Well, I have heard of instances where adding a Cap causes motor noise, but you have already eliminated that.
Also, Alot of times on multichannel amps, the amp will 'see' two or more different audio grounds on the different RCA inputs. Did you change the way the rcas were hooked to the amp at all? Are the sub amps running off the RCA output of the amp? If so that can cause an audio ground loop to be present.
I would trace this problem backward, to find the problem. Since adding the equipment caused the problem, the removing it will fix it.
First, start off by unplugging the rca inputs on the bass amps. Does the problem go away?? if so, you are creating an audio ground loop, which we need to get rid of.
Second, Unhook the power from one amp at a time, and see if the problem goes away. Sometimes adding additional equip to a ground point can cause the ground 'run' back to the battery to change every so slightly, and introduce a ground loop here.
Try these things and get back to me, we will see if we can get this worked out.

Damn, you are good! This is what the end result was.. I unplugged the 2 RCAs going into the subamp and BAM! NO MORE NOISE! I plugged them back in and NOISE AGAIN! I Unplugged the remote to the amp, shutting off the subamp, and STILL, we have NOISE. I then Disconnected The 4 gauge power to amp (with RCAs connected) and the noise almost went away but there was still a little present. I then disconnected the ground 4 gauge leave both power and ground disconnected, NO NOISE!! YEY! Then I connected just the 4 gauge ground to the amp and NOISE! it was almost 100% its usually loudness. I then went and connected 4 gauge power and the noise was at 100%. I don't know whats up. It is a RCA problem, a HU problem, A power/ground problem. HELP ME EA! do you like the dramatics? you wanted more questions, well here is one

Well, the problem is definately an audio ground loop, so whatever you do, do not try to change the power wiring, etc., It won't do any good.
What is happening is the bass amps are presenting a different(IE better) ground path to the RCA cables than they are receiving from the head and highs amp.
It could be several different things, a burnt trace in the head being one of them. If you have acess to another head to try, I would do that.
I am not real familiar about the Alpine amps, so I don't know what kind of isolation they have between chassis and audio ground.
Can you tell me the EXACT path the RCA takes (IE what equipment it goes through, not where its ran), and maybe i can help you out some more.
PS you never said if you are using the RCA outputs of the alpine to run the RF. IF you are, try splitting the rca BEFORE it goes into the alpine, and see if that helps.

Just go give you an idea of what I am looking at here are some pics. http://people.ne.mediaone.net/mkennedy02/my_current_mess/ pardon the mess. I am waiting for the rest of my equipment and I'm not gonna make it pretty till it all gets here. Here is a pic of my install I took a week ago before I added all the subs and amps again. http://people.ne.mediaone.net/mkennedy02/nobassinstall.JPG (NO NOISE) Here is a pic of my install before the one above. http://people.ne.mediaone.net/bassin247/images/amps.jpg (had noise) Just to let you know. I tried replacing the amp that makes the noise (The alpine F-353) with one of my old Phoenix Gold M-50s. There was noise present with both amps. The head unit is a Eclipse 5342R. Its about 2 years old. Right now the path of the RCA that goes to the subamp (the bd1000a1) is from the subwoofer preout and into the amp. No crossovers, line drivers, or eqs are between the deck and amp. When I had the 2 Alpine 1505s I used a Audio Control 24xs and there was noise. Now I'm not using the 24xs. The RCA setup I am using now is the same RCA setup I have used in every install. I didnt move any of them at any time. Just to let you know I have 3 sets of RCAs running from the back of the deck to the amps. All 3 arent the same. 2 are made my monster cable (different model numbers too) and the other one is made by street wire. One more thing I want to tell you is I had the Alpine sub amps and the alpine 4 channel in another car. It worked great for a while, until one day it started making noise.

The Y adapter is a Good idea. This has been driving me crazy for the longest time. I'm getting a RFX8350 in a few weeks, and selling this cd player to a friend for real cheap. I will try the Y adapter tomorrow. I will let you know whats going on.

Its getting quiet around here now that its getting cold out and the finals are over.. I'm starting to think that we are the only two people on the forum.
