Did you readjust the gain on the amp?
If you put in a HU that has higher preamp voltage, it will clip your amps at a lower volume setting that your old deck.

What does the volume go up to?
It clips at 30, but is that 30 out of 40, or 30 out of 80?
Most decks will clip at some point. My Eclipse deck clips at about 65 out of 80, so if yours goes to 40 that might be about right.

You should be able to adjust your amp gains to compensate. Turn your deck up until you hear clipping, then back down a notch or two, then turn the gain up on the amp until you hear clipping.
