I have recently had some problems with my head unit. The it keeps lossing power, but all my connections are fine. I did find, however that my head unit is grounding to the antenna. How can I prevent this from happening?

I dont think I follow... You believe that your head unit problem is that it's grounding through the antenna? This can be corrected with an antenna de-coupler, but I seriously doubt that it'll fix your problem. I feel it lies elsewhere, like in the battery wire.... or simply a bad deck.

I re-did all my wires and checked all of my connections. i don't think the 2 are related either. After I put my car back together the problem stop, at least for now. But right now I want to unground my head unit.

?????????????????????

Unground your head unit? How is it to work? Do you mean keep it from finding ground through it's steel chassis to the dash, AND the antenna? Depends on what kind of car, some are easy, you can do it with a plastic dash kit on some cars, others you have to be creative.

The outer sheild on an antenna is SUPPOSED to be ground. It is perfectly normal.

If you think the deck's problems are caused from the antenna, disconnect the antenna for a day and see if it helps. Then when you continue to have problems, you'll be able to rule that out. What kind of car is it? Does the problem occur at random? When you hit bumps? Do you need to reset the time & presets, etc each time?
