I currently have a Clarion headunit and changer that I have hooked up in my 95 stang. I am using a phoenix Gold ZX 350 amp, Phoenix Gold line driver, and a 12" Solobaric. When I turn the car on or off or hit the power button on the clarion, every speaker pops very loud. I left the Mach 460 hooked up for now, since it is already amplified and I haven't blown it out yet. I am a newbie here, and would really like some advice on where to start with this problem. Thanks!

I used to have that problem. When I was a newbie I used to try to put the gains up as high as possible, and that is usually the source of your problem. Try turning your gains to a little less than half, or keep adjusting it lower and lower until the pop stops. Your system will sound much cleaner and you can turn it up louder without distortion. Good Luck!

Hey, Thanks a lot! That got rid of it! Yeah, I am new and didn't really know how to tune my amp just right. I had them set at 3/4. I am still learning!

No problem. Everything should sound alot cleaner with very little or no car noise. Keep in mind that the amps will last MUCH MUCH longer if you keep the amp gains down. Not only that but it will sound much better as well. Take care!!
