does anyone have any ideas about wiring your 6x9's to make them work..all i can hear is bass no vocals..anyone with ideas please contact me so that i can do it by august 23rd..thats when i get my license..thx

Or maybe he's running a crossover on them, and cutting out all the highs. If he's got the crossover set to Low Pass 80hz or something, he won't have any highs coming out. heheh
Sometimes people accidentally hit the switch on their amps too.
if he's only running off his head unit, I'd say you're right, tweets are history if they aren't playing. (or maybe just the capacitors that are usually soldered in are damaged).

if there are factory amps/components then that speaker probably has a crossover on it. what kind of car do you drive? what is the factory system?
