Ehhh ok, heres my question. I have a 2000 cavalier, and just recentley(after i installed my new amp) When I turn on the radio at higher volumes, there is seems to be a scratchy sound coming from my interior speakers, when the bass hits. It does not do this when I am playing a cd though. Can anyone help me here?

hey igg, mine does that too. my problem is the fact that the power wire i am using is too small for my amp, and so i guess the amp is pulling too much power away from the deck and causing the speakers to crackle. also, i got bigger fuses and that worked too.
so check into the following: - run at least 4 ga. power cable - if your fuse on your + battery lead is too small, upgrade that - have the shortest power cable possible for less resistance (but leave SOME slack)
if you're problem isn't electrical related, i have no idea what it is... hope that helped

Ughh.... Dante, that is the only amp I am running in the car. I do have 4 gauge..... 8 gauge from the cap to the amp. It is only with the radio, which puzzles me.

Try beefing up the ground return wire, from the chassis to the battery ground, under the hood, using the same guage wire you are using for positive to the amplifier(s).

is your power wire ran by the antenna? nothing like a little magnetic interference. like when your driving under those huge power lines (like around monee on 57) and your radio cuts out. Only this is on a smaller scale. Checking the stock engine ground is a good thing all around. Hope I've contributed in some way sorry bout the LSB1, but the high bidder's givin me 185 for it, can't pass that up.
