hello, i posted this question on many forums. have recieved some help but not enough to fix it.

Here is the setup:
Amp: Power Acoustik OVN1-4000D (Not the best, i know)
Sub: 1 15" AQ HD3-15
Amp Kit: 4gauge Rockford Fosgate
Enclosure: 4.5^3ft tuned to 45Hz
Head Unit: Panasonic CQ-DF201U

The background:
i was coming home from work the other day, playing my music. and my amp went into protection mode. this happened a couple of other times, except it would get out of protection mode in a few seconds-minutes. but not this time. this time i could not get it out.

What I did:
-i checked the fuses, the connections behind the Head unit; all of which was perfect.
-checked the ground wire connection and moved the grounding point.
-redid the subwoofer wire connections as well as the remote turn on wire connection to the amp.
-> Removed the RCA wires and it went into normal operating mode. WOO!
found the issue.

so i played with the RCA wires and found that if i can get them in the correct spot, the amp would work, but only for a little bit and it would make a *pop* and go back into protection mode. so i played with that for a while and got the same results.
Then i took the male end of the RCA wires (that go into the amp) and spreak out the male pin so it would stay in one area.
now that works but i only if i turn down all my settings on the amp and dont put the volume about 19 (it goes up to 40).

AND if i hit a bump or a loud bass note hits, it will go into protection mode [not too sure if it makes a pop noise] but then i have to turn it down a lot and it will come back on.

I brought it to a local car audio shop to see if they could see what is going on. They didnt find anything wrong, but offered to re-wire my system for $100, no thanks!

Questions:
now i think this is an internal amp issue inside the RCA connector. so is there a way i can just take off the RCA connectors and male part of the RCA wires and solder the wires to the metal that is inside the amp?

and could my issue be that that metal flap like thing inside the connector is bent or loose?

and the plastic surround inside the metal connector in the amp is loose. it sounds like it is rattling if i tap it with a toothpic.

And any comments and ideas are greatly appreciated!!1

ok so after replacing the RCA wires, again. i figured out my problem, thus far.
How can i tighten up my RCA connectors? because when i put the RCA Wires in they just wiggle and slide out. and dont make a connection. Any way i can fix this?
