Ok fellas, I have a customer with cadilac sts 2005. He wants to just install a doubledin radio hooked upto his bose and steering wheel. Metra doesn't make a kit or dash kits or even a wire harness for this p.o.s. . What can I use?? He doesn't want to build a kit or rig the wiring up . Thanks for your help.

Bestkits makes a 2din dashkit for those cars. It also comes with a pocket incase you wanted to do single. It's 2kits in one. Here's the link.

but no one makes a wiring harness for that vehicle. Does it have the Luxury Audio package or the more "basic"? How many PAIRS of subwoofer wires are there?

It may be possible to relocate the headunit and run an LOC, but you may lose fade, power antenna may stay up when ignition is on, and several other things. There is a data system that no one has an interface for yet. You can't simply remove the radio.

tell him it will be done properly and safely. but there's no easy way to do it...and he'll probably have to run amplifiers and bypass the factory amp. Keep the factory radio in the car to maintain the data connection. then run two 4ch amps. one to keep 4 main channels, and a second 4ch to keep the center, and sub(s). just make sure impedance is safe for the amps.

I went through hell installing a headunit in my caddy, if I remove the factory deck a whole bunch of weird electrical problems occur(the Metra kit for my car doesn't work, tried two units with the same results). I had to make a custom wire harness to relocate the factory deck into the trunk and ran all new wires for everything.

So why would he want a different deck but same speakers? The Bose system has an amplifier somewhere in the car so to hook them up you'll need all kinds of speaker-to-line-level converters(not to mention tracing tons of wires) and the sound probably won't be a whole lot better than what he had.
