I purchased a new mobile dvd player but it only has one rca going to the sub amp. will my amp and sub work ok with only one rca cable? I called them and they said a sub amp only needs one input, but I dont think it will sound as good....

What they should have told you is to take that one rca and use a "Female Y splitter" and then your sub amp will have both inputs givin a signal. But yes a mono signal is fine, just split to both left and right inputs of your amp, unless it has a switch on it for single input? but most do not have that ability.

it would not have to have a switch for a single input.

Take a mono amp, it doesn't have a left and a right channel, therefore it just uses one input [Smile]

You can unplug half of your input and it won't make a difference in sound or spl

I understand that, as I have had a million mono amps. Just helping him understand better.
