I was wondering if I could hook up my neon light to the pos. and neg. coming from my head unit and then hook up to a switch. I've got an in-line fuse to use on it too. If this isn't the best way to do it, then how else should I go about it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I wouldn't do that...

I would run a dedicated line from your battery to the neon transformer..and then ground (neg) it to the car body...

While you're at it you could add a relay with a switch on your dash if you wanted...

hope that helped

OK. But I don't have a transformer unless one is built into the neon itself. It is just a regular Street Glow 20" accent tube. If it does have a built in transformer then I can just hook it up to the battery and ground it to the body. But if not then what else can I do. I just want to be able to turn it on and off without plugging it into the stupid cigarette lighter. Thanks again.

Ground hte negative wire. Mount your switch. One side of the switch goes to the tube, the other goes to your fuse box. The ONLY thing good about owning a GM is that there is ALWAYS a couple of IGN and BATT taps in the fusebox for adding accessories. Use a male spade to plug into here. Don't forget an inline fuse...

Thank you very much for the detailed description. I don't have my car up here at school, but I'll try it this weekend when I go home and I'll let you guys know how things went. Thanks again for the help.
