Pioneer 7900 BT driving Infinity 60.7cs components run through an Infinity 475a amp in a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited.
Alright so I've got the front woofers/tweeters completely in and all wired up(tweeters not completely fastened yet until I make sure it all works properly).
1. I took out the back portion of my driver side rear seat and sanded the front part of the steel where it connects to the frame of the truck frame, as well as sanding the piece of the seat itself, then bought a new bolt and put it through there to ground the amp. When I turn my cd player above around 10-12 volume(it goes up to 60 or something) the amp goes into protect mode? Am not sure why this is happening, the grounding point I am using should be working fine. 2. Also the front left speakers are being completely dominated by the front right ones, and neither left nor right side is making much midbass. So basically listening to music (which I can't turn up past around 10 on radio) The only thing you really hear is the highs, and you can't even hear that the left side is playing(it is but not loudly enough to hear compared to passenger) I have checked all wiring runs from the amp to crossovers in doors and the connections are all made properly, and screwed down tightly. The connections from crossover to speaker are good too as far as I can see. Anything I can try to see what the problem is here? I've done this install so far on my own, and had a lot of fun figuring out how to do all the wiring runs, but now I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Any help you guys could give me to avoid spending like 300$ at Car Toys for having them reinstall everything would be great.

you may need a special interface from bestkits called CHYAH. does the vehicle have a factory amp? i think they were usually under the backseat...don't remember which side. passenger maybe. if it's factory amplified premium, may be yo problem

the amp is under the pass. seat, up under the back seat, the best question is, does it have an infinity factory amp in it, just look under the rear seat and see if there is an amp, if so there is a bypass plug that works very well. metra.com can give you the part #, my book is at the shop. let us know what you have as far as factory and go from there.

Hmm not sure. I got the pioneer deck, and have RCA's going to the brand new Infinity amp all the way in the trunk of the jeep. From that I have speaker cable running to each of the crossovers, directly from the amp, and from the crossovers to the woofers/tweeters directly. Do I still need some special thing? I don't think I had the infinity premium audio system before, but even if I did, I'm not using that amp so I shouldn't need it right?
Oh should also ask: I don't have the rear speakers hooked up at all yet because one of the Infinity's out of the pair I ordered for the back were not working at all(no matter which area of the car I tried em out on). So not sure whether or not its a problem? I have the amp wired for the rear already but nothing connected to the ends(I have the ends wrapped in electrical tape at the moment and separated) Since the amp is 4 channel do I need to have an ohm load on each channel for it to work properly? Like could that be why its going into protect?

What I am trying to ask if there is a factory amp under the driver side rear seat. if there is one there and you running wire from your "aftermarket" amp to the harness behind the radio, you can be back feeding the "factory amp" adn yes that will throw it into protection. On the other hand, if you have a bad speaker or external x-over, that as well will put it in protection, just look under that back seat and let us know if there is a black thing with a heat sink that is marked "infinity" I can only go from there.

Using 2 out of the four channels won't cause a problem as long as you have the rca's in the correct inputs (four channel amps usually have 2-3 rca pairs) Also chech which speaker outputs on the amp you are using making sure they correspond to the inputs you used. If all is correct then try swapping the left and right speaker connections to the amp. If that swaps which side is playing you are on your way to narrowing down the problem. Let us know when you are this far.

I agree, if there is no amp, the spk that you mentioned may be the culporit, if you have tried your set up with just 2 channels on the front( the rear has to be NOT connected) as mentioned, if it works fine, then that narrows it down. post again. later. Nate

Man that pisses me off. You guys were correct, I appreciate that tho haha. I ordered those from onlinecarstereo.com and I've never had any bad **** from them. But both of the woofers in that component set were bad, I already sent the first one back w/o checking this one because I figured that 2 in the same box wouldn't be defective. Now gotta return this one too. Sounds good now and amp doesn't go into protect, thx tons guys appreciate all the help.

Those infiniti systems are crossed over. the dash speakers aren't just tweeters, but do some midrange too
