I got a way old LCD monitor fold out (one of the way old thick ones, more like a fold-out Tube TV) and its connected to the CVA-1000 receiver and I try to connect a DVD player through the Video jack but I can't get it to display on the screen. Whenever I hit the Setup button it just says I cannot operate while driving even though the truck will be off with the key out and the parking brake set. If i hit the Source button it just goes through the Radio, CD Player and then it goes to a black blank screen which I assume would be the video in area. Nothing pops up though, any suggestions?

You can hard wire into the navigation input. I don't remember the wire color or which wire. I did this mod years ago. Strip the wires back and test with a video source. When you find the right ones be sure and soder the wires together.
