Here's a wierd one. I have a customer with a 2007 Honda Accord. He had another shop install a Kicker 4ch amp installed off the factory HU. There was incredible noise issues. There was an ignition tick, very high pitched whine, and some static. I swapped the factory for an Alpine IDA-X001. The only thing I can't get rid of is the ignition tick. It is at a low level, but still noticeable with low level tunes or silence between tracks. I've heard of something to get rid of ignition tick, but can't remember exactly what it is. Someone help please.

Make sure the case of the kicker amp is NOT grounded to the chassis And the spot that the amp's ground is connected to is clean and secure.

I completely regrounded the amp. It's screwed to a piece of wood, so I don't think the chassis is touching metal anywhere. I don't think it's an rca problem either. The noise doesn't go away when I run new rca's outside the car.

Try another amp or wiggle the rca's on the amp to see if the noise cuts out.
