the box was designed by the head tech over at re audio for spl these subs are in a half wall in a 86 chevy caprice you need a big box and port to move alot of air which this car has the box is tuned around 45hz i dont really listen to low bass because it is not really designed to do that its designed to hit high bass and high numbers

Best SPL I ever got out of SX 12's was in about 1-1.25 cubes each. Box is too big.

Yeah, it's daily. That's what they're in now. Going to finish the rebuild tonight, with some trim panel work.

Just seems like a lot of box for 12s, though I'm no SPL expert.

thats a huge box mayne. if u want good high bass, u go smaller. with smaller boxes i noticed u get MORE of that PUNCH!. if ur not concerned about low bass id go smaller and still have it sealed off from the trunk. sometimes its not all about moving alot of air. u got some burp vehicles doing 160's and cant do an hair trick. its daily when ur trying to move massive amounts of air to pull hair tricks. youd notice a diff if u shrunk the box down a little. i know the saying the bigger box is always more efficent, but that all depends.

just my .02...how old are those subs? Do they get a lot of sun? I once launched a 9515 cause of an old surround, it was the only time I blew a DD without turning it to confetti. Worked just like all noobs imagine, flying out the basket and all. Anyway lots of sun like Arizona can kill a surround in no time at all.

Look at a guys stats before you listen to what he has to say. 129 db...hell I can fart louder than that. Dont ask me how I know tho

in a box that large maybe one sub is unloading due to different pressure waves inside the box? If so, try to load the sub with a baffle of some sort to control the woofer. IE-tube on the back or board across the back.

Whats your note? Have you been playing music? my math says youre playing like 45-50 hz which could be musical except for the new stuff like mike jones etc. They're sneaking 30-35 hz in the music now which could be a mess with your subs. Your amp have a subsonic button? With a box that large, I really do think one sub is unloading.

i try to keep the low out of playing at all just because of the size of the box i believe the subsonic is around 55to60hz so basically no lows at all if i do the volume is really low so that it wont do any damage
