i jus installed two pioneers in my van wired to a hifonics 2000 RMS..and i have made a custyom dash to hold the cd player nice and tight and its got support underneath and everything is nidce and secure and the cd player barely vibrates when i turn it up loud but it still skips and its not the cd..what can i do to fix this problem..its a high end sony cd palyer can somebody anybody please help

lemme make sure i gotcha right, it skips when there ISN'T a cd playing?

no when i play it and my bass and its on loud..it skips...the vibrations make the cd skip..sorry if you got it wrong

Threw me off.

Ehh... well, I never really had much luck with Sony h/u's (but that's just me) It could be the angle that the cd player is resting at or how tightly secure it is to the dash.

it is resting jus straight as a normal one would...and i made it tight cus when it was loose in there the bivrations wud jus throw it all over the place..im jus trying to hink of something i can do for it and im not brain dead thinking bout it

Maybe your just clipping the amp real bad and it shuts off similar to what skipping would sound like.
Does the midrange skip as well or is it just bass stopping?

Maybe the headunit doesn't have such a good anti-skip, Or having it so secure makes it skip cause the dash shakes too much. Mine skips in the dash as well, but doesn't if I set it on the seat.

the thing is
there is toomuch vibration that is the problem and im jus looking for solutions to fix thisd..i jus ordered the pioneer premier 680..it says anti shock mechanism so hiopefully that helps

it's a sony. what do you expect. unless you get the one with the hard drive, it is going to skip. buy another brand pioneer, alpine, kenwood,eclipse they will all be more stable than the sony. or you can hook up an ipod.
