So i installed a subwoffer/amplifier in my 01 Mustang and everything worked great for a while untill i ripped the ground cable off by accident oen day.
So i reinstalled the ground and everything looks to be allright....so when i turn the radio on the light on my Amplifier is Green..but when i start to turn the volume up the light goes red....im at a total loss

make sure your ground is tight against the metal of your car and check the ground at the amp too.

is your ground touching metal or is their paint in between the bolt and the surface if their is sand the paint off and it should work

the ground is touching bare metal...i had previousley sanded the paint off. And the ground wire is soldered to the ring

what guage is your wire i had the same problem and i stepped up to a 4 guage ground and i haven't had problem since

Im useing a 6gauge cable...but i dont see how that would be a problem as i was useing a 6gauge for a few months until i started haveing this problem

ok did u move the box any? if you did you might have got the same problem i did when i moved my box i left a loose screw in the box and when i moved it the screw connected the binding post together so it sent the amp into protection and the fuse shot and ....

nope i have not moved anything...i have my Amp mounted on the back of my seat..and i checked the fuses they seem to be good.
Im starting to think mabe something in the Amp just burnt out and ill have to RMA it

take a vom meter, put the neg. lead on the neg. of amp. put the pos. lead on the pos. of amp. if it is showing low voltage (7,8,10 volts) you still have a grounding problem or you have a bad conn. at the batt. or at the fuse conn.
