A friend of mine has a 2000 pontiac grand prix and her radio is randomly cutting out. I have only heard it do it once, and it was so short that I'm not sure all of the speakers quit. She says that it randomly happens on cd and radio, and different speakers cut out at different times. I'm thinking that its probably a problem with the deck. What do you guys think?

if the deck flashes off, loose remote wire.

if the deck stays on, shorting speaker wires.

well hell...under normal circumstances i'd say it sounds like you're sh1t out of luck...but in this case, that might be part of the problem.

*edit -- just noticed the titles says Factory radio [Embarrassed] i'd find the stock amp and check the harness first (sometimes those pins just suck)...any aftermarket accessories installed?*

no aftermarket, car has salvage title, i'm guessing that it was wet at some point because i looked at the owners manual for unrelated reasons and it had definitely been wet. Next time I see her I will look for a factory amp and see whats going on with that.
