Read the check engine code? im thinking maybe an 02 sensor altho usually when the 02 sensor fails 90% of the time the thing wont idle/run period itll just crank - turn over - and die

Lemme get this straight... Your Honda Civic has 1.6 L whereas my bottle of Mountain Dew has 2? [Razz]

i had a 92 camaro that did that fouled out about 3 sets of plugs and then took it in the machinc put a new computer chip in and problem solved. but it could be a hundred things idle control, o2 sensor, weak vacum line somewhere, etc. i would agree with xtremesplokc and check engine codes fisrt.

I had the same problem in my 95 Civic and I just took some carb cleaner to the IAC valve and let it run for a bit and it solved the problem. Someone had told me that you needed to replace the part...turns out to be an expensive part but I found out that they rarely go bad and just need to be cleaned out sometimes. Hope that helps. Oh yeah there was also a small hose that had a small hole in it. So check all of the hoses near the IAC valve.
