Ok i've decided to go against DD's spec box of 2.5 cubes/27 sq inches port/40hz
Ok here's what I want I want to still be able to play somewhat low bass. The Box can be about 3.5 cubic feet
How much port should I do, some people have told me 60 sq inches, but in a 3.5 cube box wont that be tuned too high? I want the maximum port possible without losing alot of low bass. Please help me out, i'm ready to get htis thing done. Just tell me the size and port area and I'll design a box from there. Any help, as always, is appreciated. Thanx

what you should do is build your box with a rectangle port, tune it to around 45hz, then add slots of mdf to descrease the port area and thus descrease the tuning frequency until it sounds right or the way you like.

depends on how long the port is. I would take jaggy's advice and start with a huge port(over 100sq in) and section it so you can block off sections and lower the tuning. As for the exact tuning, call the number on DD's site or email them, they're usually very helpful.

3.25 cubes after port and driver displacement. port 5 x 10 = 50 inches of port 24 long(just make an L port if you don't have the depth) is tunned to 37 htz. 50 inches of port is plenty, or even 40sq inches. I had 80sq inches with 2 9512's doing 151.?? at 35-39 htz... yummy
And you can always make port length come out of the box. Through that whole, on the passenger side that folds down in the Lude.

Yep, bigger the box, shorter the vent. I had assumed you wanted more SPL than SQ. Here's how I'd do it.
3.0^3 ft. after displacements. 30 sq. in. of port. 17.5" long for 35 Hz. 14 1/8" long for 38 Hz.
My 9512 is in a 2.58^3 ft. box with 24 sq. in. of vent tuned to 35 Hz. DD recommends 20 sq. in. of vent, which worked fine in my 2.29^3 ft. box. Really no noticable port noise with your head at the vent.
