I used to own an 8" solo-baric before it was stolen. It was definitely better than the JBL replacement.------------------

There's a deal for 8" Boston Pro 8.4LF subs at a local store. Currently have a 10" JBL GTX in a sealed box. Will a pair of these 8's be better? The price including a new box is only a bit more than buying a new 10" Solo-baric or Image Dynamics.

I'd say go for 2 8's because they have more surface aera. I have compared a single 15 and 2 12's and 2 usually sounds better than 1

Wow!! would be a good way to describ it. Way louder and tighter. I'm not a bass head, so getting a very tight sounding bass is important. Needs a bit more adjusting with the cross over point but will wait until I get my new front speakers in next week. ------------------
