i know you guys hate these posts, but i just need some sort of input.
i'm trying to decide between a single 12" IDMAX, or dual 12" DD3512's.
the MAX would deifinitely be ported...(3 cubes, 33hz.)
the DD's, i'm not sure whether i would go sealed, or ported. i'm interested in finding out how the DD's will perform sealed, but i don't know if i'll have the room to port them. (probably will). so i'm looking for about 60/40 SPL/SQ.
The thing is, i'm quite new and un-experience with actuall bass for extended periods of time. i'm quite sure the IDMAX will give me enough SPL, for a "car-audio virgin". but, since i just love bass so much, will it hold me off long enough? the SQ of the MAX or the DD's isn't an issue, i'm sure they will both be great. but would i even be able to stand the SPL from the DD's for a first time system? maybe i should just get the MAX and then later, if the SPL, is not enough, get the DD's? i know i'm rambling a lot here, just typing what comes to me... so, to summarize, will the SPL of the IDMAX be enough, and will the SPL of the DD's boo TOO much? remember, this is for *MY situation, not for the daily 170db listener...
thanks a lot for you patience and expertise.

depends on your budget...

but 3512s like small sealed boxes Eg, ~1.0-1.4 cu/ft each, internal volume volume for SQ

I'd probably choose the 2x3512, but I don't know the specs (fs, vas, qts) of the idmax, and weither it will sound any good in a ported box (most car subs don't really sound that good in ported boxes, because they are designed for sealed boxes)
