My brother is the proud new owner of a CV Stroker 18. To hell with saving money with college, this boy needs some BASS!!!!

On a more serious note, we would like some opinions on box construction. We are going around 7 cubes with huge ports (Four actually, two for SPL, and two for SQ with plates to alternately cover them). Anyway, how carried away should we get on strenghtening the box?

We will brace it like crazy, and probably use inch MDF. I've heard of a lot of people on here using double 3/4, glassing the inside, and lots of other stuff. What have the successful Stroker users done to fully reinforce their boxes with out going overboard (we have limited time and money)?

Dr. Deep is going to get 1.5k from two Crossfire 602a amps.

Is that common stuff you can find at the local lumberyard? What does it typically cost?

Last time I was at the lumberyard, birch was even higher in cost than MDF. It looks alot nicer than MDF, though. It is sanded smooth on both sides since it is normally used for cabinet and bookshelf construction.
I guess the cost would depend on where you are. Down in my area of the country, MDF runs about 18 bucks for a 3/4 inch sheet. Birch is about 10 bucks more per sheet.

My genneral thought on boxes for those specific woofers is this. If you can JUMP on it without making it flex, it was built properly, period. Just make sure the ports are big and it's well sealed.

146 easy, tuned for response.

148+ if tuned (and built) for SPL
